In addition to an identical hook, I make a fork by slicing an eye in half. As for when to do ratlines, I agree with doing them as early in the rigging process as possible. I do them mast by mast. WebThe first step is to scrape off the molded on chain and sand the deck until smooth. Cut the railroad chain to length and attach it to the model with super glue. This small addition adds a lot to the overall look and feel of your ship kit. I paint my kits after I have them built.

I was wondering from you all what works best for material to use for the rigging and how do you attach it to the ship. I was thinking about drilling small holes where the rigging atttaches but wasnt sure how well that would work. In this case, knots of any kind are out of the question, your biggest concern will be getting the line of rigging from point A to point B. This may be best done by CA.
